Join us for a day of learning focused on literacy and evaluation practices.

Morning Session: A literacy expert from Mount St. Joseph University will provide an in-depth explanation of the science of reading, offering school psychologists research-based insights to better understand the components of effective literacy instruction and how they connect to student learning.

Afternoon Session: A representative from the State Support Team will share information on the Ohio Dyslexia Model, with a focus on how this framework can guide and inform school psychologists in their evaluation practices.

This professional development opportunity will strengthen your understanding of literacy, dyslexia, and their implications for educational evaluations, equipping you with tools to support students more effectively.

Foundations of Early Numeracy

Fostering Mathematical Success for Every Student

September 8, October 29, January 29, and March 2

Master essential skills in early numeracy, such as counting, place value, addition, subtraction, as well as mathematical fluency. Participants will engage in activities aimed at enriching their knowledge while also exploring effective strategies to support students in their learning journey.

Engage in conversations and activities designed to emphasize the important role Early Numeracy plays in a child’s mathematical success. During this time, we will work to define what early numeracy is, the importance it plays in the future success of our students and experience some activities with concepts that set the foundations students need with numeracy.

Develop the content knowledge needed to support mastery in students with essential skills in early numeracy, such as counting, place value, addition, subtraction, as well as mathematical fluency. Explore resources for effective intervention, assessment tasks for early numeracy topics, and reimagining math goals for Individualized Education Plans.
