The Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES 2.0) Evaluator Training will prepare an evaluator of teachers, as defined by the role you serve in a Local Educational Agency (LEA), for effective, high quality and consistent staff evaluation using the OTES 2.0 Model. To become a credentialed evaluator of teachers in the State of Ohio, an individual must be properly licensed, or LEA approved as a peer evaluator, participate in the three-day state-sponsored evaluator training, and pass an online credentialing assessment.

Upon successful completion of the training (attendance for all three days of the training is REQUIRED), participants will have access to the online assessment.

The three-day state sponsored OTES 2.0 training will provide a better understanding of the OTES 2.0 Framework and Model, allow practice of skills such as scripting, evidence analysis/categorizing and coaching, and allow for sharing of resources and best practices in educator evaluation.

This immersive experience focuses on developing the 4 Cs — Creativity, Critical Thinking, Collaboration, and Communication — to support educators in creating learning experiences built for expanding gifted students’ thinking and meeting the unique needs of neurodivergent learners.

Note: While the two days are intended to be attended together, participants can engage in sessions individually without missing content. This is a repeat of the 2025 version so if you have attended an earlier version it has new content

Through engaging challenges, hands-on activities, and dynamic discussions, participants will:

• Explore outside-the-box thinking to enhance problem-solving and innovation.

• Develop critical and creative thinking strategies for stretching learning.

Join us for a transformative three-part professional learning series centered on the groundbreaking work of Rachel Lambert. This is a collaborative book study and working space where we will explore the text to understand how to shift from a medical model of “fixing” students to a social model of removing systemic barriers. Together, we will bridge the gap between theory and the classroom by discussing the book’s core themes and trying out the math routines that support and empower neurodiverse learners.

A Hands-On, Team-Based Experience
These sessions are designed as active working workshops. To maximize impact in your specific classroom or building, invite your teammates to join you (see the team rate below).

Participants should bring current curriculum materials and upcoming lesson plans to every session. We will use our time together to roll up our sleeves and modify these materials in real-time, applying Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to ensure they are accessible and rigorous for all students.

Our Collaborative Approach

To maximize our time together, this series follows a “flipped” book study model. Participants will engage with assigned chapters before each session, prepared to share insights, challenge traditional perspectives, and collaborate on classroom applications.

Each session will include:

• Shared Dialogue: Facilitated discussions focused on the big ideas from the assigned chapters.
• Math Practice: Trying out the specific routines and “low floor, high ceiling” tasks discussed in the book.
• Applied Design: A hands-on workshop where you will use your own curriculum materials to create practical tools like redesigned lesson plans and asset-based IEP goals.
