Join us for a transformative three-part professional learning series centered on the groundbreaking work of Rachel Lambert. This is a collaborative book study and working space where we will explore the text to understand how to shift from a medical model of “fixing” students to a social model of removing systemic barriers. Together, we will bridge the gap between theory and the classroom by discussing the book’s core themes and trying out the math routines that support and empower neurodiverse learners.

A Hands-On, Team-Based Experience
These sessions are designed as active working workshops. To maximize impact in your specific classroom or building, invite your teammates to join you (see the team rate below).

Participants should bring current curriculum materials and upcoming lesson plans to every session. We will use our time together to roll up our sleeves and modify these materials in real-time, applying Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to ensure they are accessible and rigorous for all students.

Our Collaborative Approach

To maximize our time together, this series follows a “flipped” book study model. Participants will engage with assigned chapters before each session, prepared to share insights, challenge traditional perspectives, and collaborate on classroom applications.

Each session will include:

• Shared Dialogue: Facilitated discussions focused on the big ideas from the assigned chapters.
• Math Practice: Trying out the specific routines and “low floor, high ceiling” tasks discussed in the book.
• Applied Design: A hands-on workshop where you will use your own curriculum materials to create practical tools like redesigned lesson plans and asset-based IEP goals.

2) Promoting an understanding and application of the OTES 2.0 teacher performance rubric while learning to collect evidence that demonstrates teacher performance.

3) Applying lessons learned and best practices from OTES 2.0 implementation to date.

4) Learning about and identifying High-Quality Student Data (HQSD).

Upon completion of the OTES 2.0 Evaluator Training, evaluators (participants) may credential through the new online credentialing system. The OTES 2.0 Evaluator Training will provide a better understanding of the OTES 2.0 Framework and Model, allow practice of skills, and allow for sharing of resources and best practices in educator evaluation.

This accelerated course is designed to support educators (speech language pathologists, intervention specialists, psychologists, ESL support staff, general education teachers, special education teachers etc. in the school-based setting in appropriately supporting, assessing, and treating multi-language learners, i.e., children who are learning a language in addition to English. 

The course is set into three primary units. The first unit reviews typical multilingual language development and investigates the research regarding how the brain develops multiple languages. Learners will explore typical and atypical patterns of dual language learning and distinguish between simultaneous and sequential learners.

The second unit contains a practical guide on the intervention and assessment process for dual language learners.

The third unit discusses research based techniques and best practice regarding screening, response to intervention, assessment, and intervention/therapy techniques. The third unit provides technological based recommendations and a review of the course. The third unit also discusses common misconceptions regarding multi-language learners and contains supplemental material on children who were internationally adopted as well as on language attrition.

The Ohio School Counselor Evaluation System (OSCES) Evaluator Training will prepare an evaluator of school counselors for effective, high quality and consistent school counselor evaluation using the Ohio School Counselor Evaluation System (adopted by the State Board of Education in April 2016).

Evaluators of school counselors and the school counselors themselves are highly encouraged to attend together.
To become a certified evaluator of school counselors in the State of Ohio, an individual must successfully complete this one day, 6 hour training, delivered by an OSCES State Trainer.

Upon successful completion of the training, a certificate of completion will be issued for verification.

The training will provide for better understanding of OSCES Framework and Model and allow practice of skills and sharing of resources and best practices in evaluations.
