PRAXIS III Orientation Sessions:
Entry Year Coordinators and those responsible for Entry Year Teachers, Praxis III Orientation sessions will again be held this year at the Hamilton County Educational Service Center, 11083 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.
Entry Year Teachers who are to be assessed this school year are expected to attend one of the sessions. All sessions will begin at 4:30 p.m. and will last approximately one and a half hours. SPACE IS LIMITED so please register early. Mentors and Administrators are encouraged to attend.
To register for Orientation, simply send a list of Entry Year Teachers, Mentors and Administrators who will be attending to Louise M. Lawrence ("Tweedle"), S.W. Regional Coordinator of Praxis III, at Tweedlelml@aol.com and indicate which date they will attending.

Remember that you will need to register all eligible Entry Year Teachers in CORE to put the assessment process in motion. That part is not done through my office. Registration in Core opened on August 1 and will close on November 15th. Information from ODE re: EYT registration can be found below.

CORE registration opens August 1, 2008 and closes November 15, 2008 for the 08-09 Entry Year Teacher program. Registration can be accessed through your safe account, go to ODE.CORE and then click Entry Year. Go to the Registration Tab to begin the process.
Note of importance:
-Be sure during registration to use the FISCAL IRN as the DISTRICT IRN, this ensures the teachers will show up on the forms when doing the funding requests. The exact physical location of the teacher can be added in the notes for the assessor.
-Be sure to check all fields, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, etc. for accuracy and that they are filled out completely.
Changes to the Form:
-You will see a 'Display Area of Licensure Data' that is new this year.
-Some minor changes to the screens are currently still in production. For example, the Registration School Year should default to 2008-09 later in
August. Currently you must select the year such as, 2008-09, as you did last year.
Reminder:
It is imperative that any district that received Entry Year Teacher funds for fiscal year 07-08, complete the End Of Year Final Report. This is another tab found when clicking into Entry Year. The reports are due no later than 8-31-08. Any districts that did not spend the entire amount received should copy the report and mail it along with the unexpended funds check to ODE, 25 S. Front St., Attn: Mark O'Brien 5th Floor, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
