HCESC offers two types of online learning: 1) Interactive courses that feature cohort groups learning in an instructor-led online environment and 2) on-demand, self-paced online courses for individuals. University credit is available for both types of online learning.

Administrative Licensure
In partnership with the Ohio Department of Education, HCESC has developed a dynamic, research-based program. This program enables administrators who hold an Alternative Principal or Specialist / Superintendent License the opportunity to complete the requirements for a provisional or professional license, respectively. This program has been designed with job-embedded learning opportunities that will inform your ‘real work’ as a busy administrator. Click here to learn more about the Alternative Licensure Program.

Freedom's Currents
Freedom's Currents is funded by a grant from the U. S. Department of Education under the Teaching American History grant program. HCESC was awarded a grant for FY 2007-2010, in partnership with the Ohio Historical Society, National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, and Northern Kentucky University.
Access to this site is limited to current participants in the program.

On-Demand Self-Paced Courses
Looking for the convenience of 24/7 online access to engaging, research-based, thought-provoking learning?
HCESC, through our partner Educational Impact, offers a variety of online courses presented by nationally-known experts including Charlotte Danielson, Michael Fullan, Doug Reeves, Alan November, Roland Barth, Richard Elmore, and many others.
Teachers, administrators and support personnel will all find courses that meet their interests and needs.
The cost is $50 per course. As an option, graduate credit is available for an additional $172/graduate hour from Ashland University. Participants can earn one (1) semester hour of graduate credit for every 12.5 completion time hours, which can be a combination of the completion hours of several different courses. Certificates of completion are received at the conclusion of the course(s) and need to be submitted to HCESC for approval of graduate credit.
